Urena lobata

Urena lobata is another species of my mini project. Also known as pulut-pulut. It is quite challenging for a new comer like me..because the leaf was hairy (too much of trichome).

Kind of woody shrub, with 1 m high and hairy. Leaf with apeks 5 -10 lobous wide. single flower on the short diaxil. Fruit covered by hook.

Mincing the fruit and used to threat diarrhoea. The leaf can be use to threat wound. Gonorea can be threat by drink the boiled leaf and root water.

This is the abaxial leaf. we can see here that the anticlin wall is sinous. Anomocytic is the type of stomata and this is also my third attempt.

According to Raja Shanmukha Rao and Ramayya (1981) stomata that been found in Urena lobata is amphistomatic. Due to this, found that there are at least 5 variety of Urena lobata in Malaysia but the variety being used is purplish flower with big leaf same as the picture above.
